We are adopted as children of God

We went to K and W tonight. It was great.
After dinner we came home and bathed the kids and are presently putting them to bed.
Then I started listening to a sermon about adoption. There was a final story about a mother and her husband that went to Sirre Leone to adopt a girl. Once there they were told that they had to wait 6 months, in the country, to adopt her. And they did. The father went home, but the mother stayed. And one day the little adopted girl will ask, "Mom, how do I know that you love me?" What is that mom gonna say? "Look at what lengths we went to to make you ours?" How could you doubt that we loved you? It is the same with God. Look at what lengths he went to in order to make us his sons and daughters. All we have to offer is our need. Look at the lengths he went to to make you his son, and your daughter. Look at what lengths he went to.
Behold what manor of love that he has given to us. Look at it. You are children of God, and so you are. And so you are.
