Restoration of all things

I am getting kind of fed up with political rhetoric. The political machine starts to bother me around now. It is such a machine. Emails from this candidate. Emails from that candidate. It is all such a big game. We are all so hopeless, and it is so remarkable that we pin our hopes on men. Our hopes can never be restored by men. Our hopes can only be restored in God. God restores our hope. He does this on the cross of calvary. He restores us to joy, to union with Him, and to life in God. Oh how the political season reminds me of the wrath of God. Oh how the political season is so devoid of peace, of God's presence. It will be a blessed thing when we can simply vote, and get into the Christmas season. I am not saying that voting is not important. No! I am saying that the spirit of our age comes out in these elections, and it is depressing. The spirit of our age is so heavy. There is so much despair in the air. The stock market is down. The housing market is down. And sometimes our hopes hang on finances. Wow! This is so sad. Do we not know that there are no Uhauls behind hearses. Let us celebrate what Christ has done and recieve the peace that comes in this celebration.
